One Direction's Louis Tomlinson mourns deceased grandmother, 1D fans show support on Twitter

Just before the New Year, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson bid farewell to his step-grandmother, Margaret, when she passed away. Thanks to a lovely message from Louis' stepfather Mark and his step-grandfather Keith, we can confirm this sad news.

While tabloids and gossip websites were busy tracking down the other members of One Direction and their respective New Year's Eve plans, Louis was nowhere to be seen or heard from. There was even a brief realization of this between numerous One Direction fans on Twitter, asking where he was and wondering why he hadn't been spotted anywhere.

It turns out he was in the beginning stages of mourning. When fans found out, they immediately sent him plenty of emotional support through Twitter.

One fan posted: "Rest in peace Louis' grandma thanks for making our Boobear happy when you were still here. We love you also x"

Another wrote, "LOUIS UR GRANDMA IS WATCHING U FROM HEAVEN NOW AND SHE'S PROUD OF U AS MUCH AS WE ARE #RIP "

"@Louis_Tomlinson bby im sorry for your loss i know your grandma is watching and is so proud of u okay i love u so much♥♥♥♥," yet another stated.

Twitter was also where the news broke, thanks to emotional posts from Louis' family members.

Louis' adoptive father Mark wrote on Twitter: ''The birds are singing today. Rest in Peace my beautiful Mum. I'm going to really miss you.'' 

'There was never one day in 47 years of being married to me that Mrs T didn't tell me she loved me.'' Louis' widower step-grandfather Keith said.

He later added: ''So much love from you for Mrs T. You have been so kind to me today. I thank you all from the bottom of my breaking heart.''
