The buzz band of 2004 has teamed up with the buzz producer of 2010 for a song that defies buzz blog hype by being really, really good. Toro Y Moi and Chromeo joined forces for the new single "Come Alive" off of Chromeo's upcoming album White Women.

The track leans more in the direction of Chromeo (it's their song, after all) with Hall & Oates-style keyboards and melodies. Surprisingly, Toro abandons the trappings of the chillwave genre he helped create and acts as the track's Pharrell Williams, delivering smooth, disco-indebted vocals over the top of Chromeo's throwback instrumentation.

I'm not the biggest Chromeo fan in the world but if you can't join me in being excited for White Women after hearing this track then you may be dead inside.
