Part of the appeal of X-Men: Days of Future Past is that the time travel in the movie allows fans to get a look at younger versions of the characters from previous installments in the franchise. Magneto, Charles Xavier, Mystique and even Wolverine are just a few examples. But a villain from Bryan Singer's very first X-Men movie in 2000 will reappear in Days of Future Past in his younger form.

Evan Jonigkeit spoke to MTV and revealed that his previously unannounced character in the film is Toad, the frog-like mutant played by ay Park in the first movie. Jonigkeit, a big fan of the comics, said that his role sets up Park's character in X-Men:

"I read a lot of the comic books. I found out the storyline of my character, who is Toad. X-Men fans will know that Ray Park played him in the first movie, so it's a generation story of how he came to be. It's really cool...The aesthetics of the character are much different, and I'm not really allowed to say a whole lot more than that. It's darker. I would say it's a darker tone."

In the first movie, Park's Toad gets into a battle with Storm (Halle Berry), who delivers a painfully awkward one-liner before she blasts him full of electricity to knock him out of commission.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23 and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
