One of the first big rumors of 2014 involved the members of One Direction reportedly being at odds with each other over the sound of their new songs. According to reports, the success of their latest album, Midnight Memories, led Harry Styles to try to alter the groups sound to rock rather than pop. The boys allegedly didn't like this idea, and therefore have been feuding with Styles. Other reports claimed this rumor wasn't true and now member Liam Payne and Niall Horan have addressed the claims.

"Lots of articles saying we are clashing," Liam wrote on his Twitter account. "no ones clashing we are just having a bit of Family time after hitting the road for 3 years (sic)".

After Liam posted this tweet, Niall retweeted it to his own account, thus backing up his bandmate's statement.

The boys were clearing up the latest rumor that would make some believe the band was breaking up.

"Harry loves being in the band and respects and loves his bandmates. But he's very ambitious and thinks they should be growing up more and becoming more credible," The Daily Star's inside source stated last week. "Their third album Midnight Memories was already a lot less pop but Harry wants to push it further."

The source added: "He thinks their next album is the perfect time to create a much edgier and more rock 'n' roll image and he's already writing songs that he wants them to include on the record."
