'The Big Bang Theory' latest Season 7 episode breaks ratings record

CBS absolutely dominated the competition on network television on Thursday night thanks in part to record performance from The Big Bang Theory's latest Season 7 episode.

The hit CBS sitcom had set records in Jan. 2013 but broke those records by amassing its largest 8 p.m. audience ever with 20.7 million viewers. The show ticked upward two-tenths of a point to a 5.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.

The Millers also tied its series high with a 3.3 rating, up half a point from its last offering. The Crazy Ones moved up four-tenths of a point to a 2.4, while Two and a Half Men (2.4 rating) and Elementary (2.0 rating) both moved up two-tenths.

Overall, CBS grew to average a strong 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 12.1 million viewers in the three-hour evening block.

NBC also grew, though less than CBS did. Community moved up two-tenths from it Season 5 premiere to a 1.4 rating, while Parks and Recreation came back from its extended break up four-tenths of a point to a 1.4 rating. Sean Saves the World (1.0 rating) and The Michael J. Fox Show (1.0 rating) both increased two-tenths from last week, while Parenthood held at a 1.3 rating. NBC averaged a 1.2 rating and 3.6 million viewers.

On ABC, The Taste maintained its 1.3 rating and The Assets dropped two-tenths o a point from its weak premiere to a 0.6 rating, the lowest-rated drama offering on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox this season. ABC finished with an average of a 1.0 rating and 3.95 million viewers.

Sleepy Hollow repeats populated Fox's schedule and delivered an average of a 0.7 rating and 2.4 million viewers.

The CW, which also ran repeats, finished with a 0.3 rating and 945,000 viewers.
