HBO recently revealed that the highly anticipated Season 4 of its smash hit Game of Thrones would debut on Sunday, April 6. Now, the network has released the first trailer for the new season, and if it doesn't get you excited for the premiere, then we don't know what would.

The video, which you can view below, features a multitude of characters and some extremely intriguing possibilities for Season 4, including:

- King Joffrey taking credit for winning the war and saving King's Landing

- The shadow of what appears to be a very large dragon flying over the city

- Daenerys laying down the law and making it clear that she's on the path to ruling

- Tyrion in a predicament that he doesn't think he can talk his way out of this time

- The Night's Watch preparing for the Wildlings to attack The Wall

- Jamie Lannister (now clean-shaven) getting a fake hand to replace the one he lost

- Cersei confronting her father, Tywin

Another major point of Season 4 is the so-called "Purple Wedding," the royal affair in which Joffrey will wed Margaery Tyrell. George R.R. Martin, who wrote the books on which Game of Thrones is based, revealed in an interview with TV Guide in September that King Joffrey's royal wedding in the upcoming season could be an even bigger affair than the famous Red Wedding that took place in the penultimate episode of Season 3:

"It's going to be the wedding of the year, and as memorable in its own way as our wedding last season...It's what the fans call the Purple Wedding, based on the color of the wine, which plays a big part."

Martin also told the site that the wedding scenes "look spectacular. The bride's dress incorporates roses, there are 77 courses at the dinner feast, and there's some wonderful halftime entertainment."
