Chris Pratt stars as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which hits theaters later this year. The film about a group of aliens who come together to fight a common foe is perhaps the riskiest and most intriguing film Marvel has done thus far, but the studio plans to put the film on everyone's radar soon, according to its star.

Pratt spoke to MTV News on the red carpet of the Golden Globes on Sunday and said that the studio is planning a big marketing push in the near future:

"Yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy was absolutely an experience of a lifetime. I feel like it really hasn't even started yet because we've got a big publicity push that's gonna happen when we're gonna fly around the world and introduce the movie to people who are watching it. So that's gonna be really exciting and new for me to do something like that on a grand scale."

Guardians of the Galaxy will likely need plenty of promotion, as the casual fan is more than likely not as aware (if he or she is aware at all) of Star-Lord and Drax the Destroyer as he or she is of Iron Man and Captain America. Marvel has sent its actors on worldwide promotional tours in the past, so Pratt's words are hardly a surprise.

Pratt added that "the movie-making process was unlike anything I've ever experienced before and truly mind blowing. [Director] James Gunn did a great job."

As for his actual role in the film, the actor said, "this character is definitely close to my heart. He's an adult, and a man, but also a kid on the inside, which was really fun. And I didn't have to stretch too far to play that because I feel like that's kind of like who I am... probably."

What do you expect this big publicity push to be? A tour, or something more? Let us know in the comments below.
