Fans who have been closely following the news about Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, which we're currently calling Batman vs. Superman, know that Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) would not be sporting her classic short-shorts and red top from the comics. Instead, the character would have some sort of armor, but details were scarce.

Now, costume designer Michael Wilkinson has told the New York Times about his work on the movie, and it seems as though he will give Wonder Woman a brand new look that fans may not have seen in the past. Here's what he said:

"I have been given the opportunity to tackle a wide range of genres with my work: big superheroes, gritty contemporary, epic period, science fiction. It keeps me stimulated and challenged as an artist. At the moment, I'm designing the costumes for Batman vs. Superman. It's an honor to be creating new looks for such iconic characters as Wonder Woman. The interesting thing is that my approach is always the same, no matter the genre or the period. I'm using the same tools - silhouette, fabric, color, drape - to help tell the story and illuminate the inner life of the characters."

Given the nature of the conflict that is likely to take place in the superhero sequel and the tone of Snyder's previous Superman work, a Wonder Woman decked out in red and blue wouldn't really fit into the film. But one clad in Amazonian armor would likely feel more natural in the Man of Steel world.

What do you think, fans? What sort of outfit are you expecting Wonder Woman to wear in the movie? Let us know in the comments below.
