Drake to perform and host 'Saturday Night Live,' check out his promo spots

Last month, Mstars reported that Drake would be hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live and it's about that time for Drizzy to head over to the small screen.

The actor turned rapper appeared on SNL before back in 2011. He was a musical performer. This time around, Drizzy will also get to flex his acting skills that made him a star on Degrassi.

In the past year, Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga have both hosted and performed.

Upon its return, SNL will also boast its new cast members. SNL came under fire a little while back for its lack of black female cast members.

After much scrutiny, the show announced that it had three finalists for a role as a new black female cast member.

The finalists are Natasha Rothwell, Sasheer Zamata and Kerry Coddett. They were selected from 7 or 8 performers who held auditions in Los Angeles.

We wonder who made the cut.

Fans of SNL have some big changes to look forward to when the show returns and we're sure Drake is going to do a great job as well.

2013 was a big year for Drake and he's kicking off 2014 in a major way. Drizzy has also signed to star in a Time Warner commercial slated to air during Super Bowl XLVIII. He will headline the Revolt TV and Time Warner Cable Super Bowl pre-show as well.

SNL returns from its holiday break this Saturday (Jan. 18).
