This last year has been a great time to be a fan of Queen (more so than any other time is an excellent time to fan of Queen, that is). First we had the never-before-heard collaborations between Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury. Now, we have a previously undiscovered Queen track - complete with Mercury vocals - that Brian May says is "magic."

May took to his personal blog to discuss the uncovered outtake, which the rest of Queen is finishing up.

"Some Queen magic is happening" May wrote. "I feel it in my bones. It's annoying to have to be so secretive, but I guess I have to, for now. What I can say is the track we dusted off today has the four of us, Freddie, John, Roger and myself, playing together on a track we'd forgotten about that was never finished."

May added that the track hasn't suffered for being lost so long and that he felt an urge to finish it and release it.

"It sounds so fresh now all carefully transferred into the ProTools environment but sounding exactly like it did straight off the 24-track tape it was recorded on over 30 years ago. I got quite emotional hearing some of it... some rough takes, some discussion and banter, and then a really good take and some overdubs, and well... it's crying out to be finally brought into the world."

May also expressed gratitude that no one thought to leak or bootleg the track.

"It only takes on clever dick to steal a rough mix of some unfinished recording and forever more it is out there on the Internet, being chewed up by everyone before it's had a chance to be born properly.
