Marketing for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues as Sony tries to hype the film's release as much as possible in advance of its May 2 U,S. release date. The studio has released a batch of new photos, and they could reveal some extremely intriguing plot points about the film.

[WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD]

Total Film collected the series of photos, some of which tell nothing new. There's Electro (Jamie Foxx) firing his electricity, Spider-Man diving downward and another shot of Spider-Man catching a cab (that's literal, not in the standing-on-the-corner sense).

But the rest of the photos open up some interesting possibilities. For starters, we have Spider-Man walking away from Rhino (Paul Giamatti), who is webbed up and has his pants around his ankles. Spidey seems to have retrieved an item of some kind from the villain, though it's unclear what it is.

Another photo shows that Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) seems to be present at the time Electro is created. Is it his doing?

A third photo shows Spider-Man in full costume inside Harry Osborn's apartment, with Harry sitting in a chair and Spider-Man standing a few feet away. Does this mean that Harry knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, or is the web head just dropping by for a different reason?

Finally (as you can see in the photo at the top of the page), and perhaps most intriguing of all, we have Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) looking up and appearing as if she is in serious danger. Why is this important? Because she is wearing the iconic outfit from her death in the comic books, which could signal major trouble for her.

What do you think, Spider-Man fans? What are your theories about these photos? Let us know in the comments below.
