It's coming, y'all. On February 9, The Walking Dead will return from its midseason break, bringing a whole lot of unanswered questions with it. This trailer for the second half of season 4 doesn't quite answer any of those questions, but it does let us know that things are going to get dark.

The trailer consists of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) trying to convince his fellow survivors to carry on after a showdown with the Governor. The trailer jumps between clips of zombies, violence, crying and thousand-yard stares all while Mourning Ritual's cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising" plays over top.

(I know it sounds like Tom Waits. But it isn't. Trust me).

AMC president Charlie Collier revealed that - surprise, surprise- the most-watched show on television would be back for a fifth season.

"We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever: The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season," Collier said in a statement.

"This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently - and most notably - with the season four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest non-sports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here's to more Dead."

What do you think of the trailer for The Walking Dead? Are you excited for the show to return?

Sound off in the comments.
