It is no surprise that Oprah Winfrey loves her own film, Lee Daniels The Butler, but the OWN network owner, also is revealing that her other favorite film of 2013 was 12 Years a Slave.

According to HipHollywood, the former TV host said that her favorite film was 12 Years a Slave while in an interview on the red carpet for the 20th Annual SAG Awards.

12 Years a Slave was a top film in the race to win, as the award season kicked off. The film was nominated for four SAG awards, but only grabbed one trophy this weekend. Up and coming actress, Lupita Nyong'o graced the red carpet making a fashion statement as MStars previously reported on her ensemble for the night.

Lupita who played Patsey, a abused slave in the film felt honored to be recognized by her SAG peers.

"Being recognized by fellow actors is an honor of the highest order and I want to thank all of you so much," she said as she accepted her award. "I want to thank the man without whom this would not be possible at all, Solomon Northup. Thank you so much for a life well lived a story hard to tell but told so well."

"Thank you Steve McQueen," Lupita continued. "Thank you for taking a flashlight and shining it underneath the floor boards of this nation and reminding us on what it is we stand on."

According to the site, Fox Searchlight is showing 12 Years a Slave in 700 theaters nationwide once again in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Some of the celebrities attending the SAG awards stated what the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. meant to them. Boardwalk Empire star, Michael Kenneth Williams said, "Freedom, civil rights, in my heart I believe that partly why I'm here I owe it to him to be accepted as an equal and to be given a chance to express my talents in what I love to do."
