Michael Rooker, a former star of The Walking Dead, hits the big screen in August as Yondu, one of the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He joins Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper as a group of aliens that form a team.

In an interview with Unrendered Podcast (via ComicBook.com), Rooker offered fans some glimpses into what they can expect from the Marvel film. Firstly, he talked about how his costume in the movie differs from Yondu's attire in the comics.

"As you can see from some of the photos out there, I'm not in a loincloth." he said. "I don't have a major, major fin thing that goes down my back. We haven't visually gone with the way that Yondu was in the comics."

Next, Rooker described the "lovely, beautiful colors" that will permeate the movie, which makes sense given that much of the movie takes place in outer space and the cast of characters is so diverse.

"What do you expect? It is a superhero movie," Rooker said. "And I hope that you see it, and you're going to be going 'I'm going to see this again.' That's what I hope."

Rooker has worked with director James Gunn in the past on movies such as Slither and Super, and he praised the director on the podcast.

"It was a beautiful shoot," he said. "James Gunn was an awesome, awesome director to work with again. I've worked with him before in the past, and it was great to get to do it again." He later added: "He allows me to do my thing, and he has great comments. Very good director...when you're lost in the woods, he can direct you."

As for what attracts him to Gunn, he said: It's what attracts him to me, not what attracts me to him. You've got the wrong question there. [Laughing] We get along well. We've been good friends since our first film."
