There are always two sides to a story, and it seems a person. Seattle Seahawks, cornerback Richard Sherman is half smart Stanford graduate, who loves to indulge in books, and a hard blunt talker, who considers himself the best in the NFL.

After Sundays win, and Sherman's defensive play to help make that win to the Super Bowl, fans also witnessed Sherman rant after the big win in an interview about his opponent, Michael Crabtree.

After his televised interview hit millions of viewers around the world through social media and he decided to set the record straight with an interview on CNN, with Rachel Nichols.

"There isn't much that I regret, well I guess I regret the storm afterward. The way it was covered, and the way it was perceived, and the attention that it took away from the fantastic performances of my teammates, that be the only part that I regret, is the way it was covered."

"I probably shouldn't have attacked another person," he said. "You know, I don't mean to attack him. And that was immature and I probably shouldn't have done that. I regret doing that."

Sherman received multiple racist comments and was shocked at how football fans reacted.

"It was really mind-boggling the way the world reacted, I can't say the world, I don't want to generalize people like that because there are a lot of great people who didn't react that way. But for the people who did react that way and throw the racial slurs and things like that out there, it was really sad. Especially that close to Martin Luther King Day."

"I learned we haven't come as far as I thought we had," Sherman continued. "I thought society had moved past that."

Sherman who is 25-years-old has played in the NFL for three years. After Stanford he was named All-Pro for the past two seasons in the NFL for his position as cornerback.

Sunday as the Seahawks won, Sherman was defending 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree in the last quarter of the game, blocking Crabtree from catching the ball and ensuring the Seahawks a win to the Super Bowl.

"I'm the best cornerback in the game," he yelled during a interview after the game. "When you try me with a sorry receiver like (the 49ers Michael) Crabtree, that's the result you are going to get. Don't you ever talk about me."

The Fox reporter interviewing Sherman was, Erin Andrews and asked, "Who was talking about you?"

"Crabtree," Sherman angrily replied. "Don't you open your mouth about the best, or I'm going to shut it for you real quick."

After the interview it was like the world had lighted up. Social media was put on the map with Instragram photos, videos and fans tweeting crazy comments.

According to CNN on person tweeted, "Richard Sherman deserves to get shot in the head. Disrespectful (N-word)." On social media, Sherman was called a gorilla, an ape, thug, and ghetto and the list goes on.

After Sundays game, Sherman had time to reflect, staying focused and telling the CNN reporter that it takes certain characteristics to become a great football player.

"If you catch me in the moment on the field when I am still in that zone, when I'm still as competitive as I can be and I'm trying to be in the place where I have to be to do everything I can to be successful ... and help my team win, then it's not going to come out as articulate, as smart, as charismatic -- because on the field I'm not all those things," Sherman said.

His reply to the racial comments. "They had time to think about it," he said. "They were sitting at a computer and they expressed themselves in a true way."

"But these people are acting like I attacked them in some way, like I went after them. I did my job effectively. And afterwards, they interviewed me and I had an interview. Regardless of how that interview goes, it doesn't give you the right to say -- the things they were saying. And that's the part that's sad."

Watch Unguarded with Rachel Nichols on Friday nights at 10:30 EST.
