Bruce Springstreen 'High Hopes' ices out 'Frozen' soundtrack for 11th No. 1 on Billboard 200

It seemed impossible, but Bruce Springsteen has finally iced Frozen out of the top spot on the Billboard 200. Today (Jan. 22), Billboard announced that The Boss' new album High Hopes has debuted at No. 1 on the US album charts, breaking the five-week streak of Beyoncé and Frozen.

The Boss' new album sold 99,000 copies, his lowest debut to date (though enough to nab the top spot). However, despite the small sales start, Springsteen can easily celebrate. He is not the musical act with the third most No. 1 albums in the US with 11. Springsteen is led only by musical bigwigs Jay Z (13) and the Beatles (19).

The chart-topper for the last two weeks, the soundtrack to Disney's Frozen has fallen one spot to No. 2, selling 87,000 units. This continues the soundtrack's dominance, and even though Frozen has failed to impact on radio, large box office sales, award nominations and stunning music has helped the soundtrack perform just as well as other Disney classics (read: The Lion King).

Kids-friendly music continues to dominate the top of the charts, as the 25th installation in the Kidz Bop series, fittingly titled Kidz Bop 25, debuts at No. 3. Featuring cleaned up covers of hit pop songs like "Cruise," "Royals" and "The Fox," the set sold 65,000 copies.

Beyoncé's self-titled album continues to fall down the chart, slipping to No. 4 with 61,000 units sold.

Speaking of girls gone solo, Sugarland's country crooner Jennifer Nettles' debut album That Girl rounded out the top five with 54,000 copies sold. Debuting at the top of the charts is nothing new to Nettles, who notched three No. 1 albums with her band.

Switchfoot's new effort Fading West is the final debut in the top 10 and reached No. 6 with 39,000 copies.

The final four albums in the top four are familiar fare. Lorde's Pure Heroine came in at No. 7 with 31,000 copies, Eminem's MMLP2 stumbled down four spots with 29,000 copies and the No. 8 spot, Katy Perry's Prism moved 22,000 copies at No. 9 and once again, Imagine Dragons finish the top 10 with 20,000 albums sold.
