Paul Walker passed away in a horrific car explosion back in November 2013. Since then, fans continue wondering how producers will honor Brian O'Conner - Walker's beloved character in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise. According to co-star Kurt Russell, the entire situation surrounding "FF7" rewrites is "catastrophic" - and just plain sad.

The 62-year-old actor was cast as O'Conner's father figure in the upcoming action flick (the movie's currently in production).

"They're having to rewrite, they're having to do whatever they're having to do to deal with the situation," Russell told reporters while promoting "The Battered Bastards of Baseball" at this year's Sundance Film Festival (via BBC). "It's catastrophic. It's the worst thing that could happen to a movie... but it's not as bad as what happened to Paul."

Goldie Hawn's longtime partner continues, "So everything is in perspective... He was a terrific guy. And life is full of curveballs. It's just a situation that they'll work out and, at that time, I'll go back to work."

Sadly, Russell only had "one day left" of shooting before Walker's tragic death. "I don't know what is going to happen with that. It's obviously a difficult situation." He

According to him, the fate of Brian O'Conner still remains unknown.

Some fans think that Walker's younger look-alike brother Cody would make a good replacement - do Mstars readers agree?
