Possible major spoilers on 'Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier' villains

Captain America: The Winter Soldier aka Captain America 2 will feature, unsurprisingly, The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) as its main antagonist to Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). But rumors of other villains have circulated online, and a new report claims to have information on who else will cause trouble for Cap in the sequel.

Bucky Barnes as The Winter Soldier is a given, but Robert Redford has also commented that his character, Alexander Pierce, could be a villain, and Frank Grillo is still in play as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones.

This Is Infamous posted an exclusive report claiming that "all of them, but at the same time none of them" would be the main villain of the film. In short, HYDRA (the organization led by the Red Skull in Captain America, will be behind the events of Captain America 2.

"Obviously all three of them will play a part in Captain America's battle against evil, but, for the purposes of The Winter Soldier, it'll be in the name of a greater enemy, which is set to be HYDRA as an expanding organization. With HYDRA seemingly decimated, following the capture of Arnim Zola (Toby Jones) and the removal of Red Skull from this realm, HYDRA will be secretly brought into the modern era, using sleeper agents to infiltrate the United States government and other federal agencies, including S.H.I.E.L.D., in an attempt to rise to power and take over our way of life. That leaves Captain America and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, who we've been told time and time again is a major player in The Winter Soldier, to root out these hidden agents before it's too late."

The site also reports that Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernandez) and Senator Stern (Garry Shandling), the latter of whom appeared in Iron Man 2, could have ties to HYDRA. This is Infamous also notes rumors that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could have HYDRA references in it. Furthermore, the site theorizes that Captain America 2 could introduce Baron von Strucker before The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
