It's finally been announced who will get to take the floor wearing the ugliest jerseys in the history of the universe at the 63rd Annual NBA All Star Game in New Orleans. The East and West's starters were revealed earlier today and there are few surprises to be found:
Eastern Conference
Carmelo Anthony, New York
Paul George, Indiana
Kyrie Irving, Cleveland
LeBron James, Miami
Dwyane Wade, Miami
Western Conference
Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
Stephen Curry, Golden State
Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City
Blake Griffin, L.A. Clippers
Kevin Love, Minnesota
(Wait a minute, Kobe Bryant? Kobe Bean Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers? In 2014? If ever there was an argument to be made for getting rid of the fan vote, it's this).
While the narrative of this season overall would leave you thinking that the West is going to dismantle the East, the fact remains that LeBron James is the best basketball player on the planet and any team that he plays for (especially one that includes his actual teammate in the starting five) is not going to be a push-over.
Also, there's the fact that one of the West's starting positions is being filled by Kobe f***ing Bryant, who fractured his tibial plateau all the way back on December 17 and hasn't played since. I mean...Jesus.
