Queen Latifah will sing 'America the Beautiful' during the pregame festivities at Super Bowl XLVIII

Queen Latifah had a rewarding night at the Grammy Awards when she officiated the marriage of 33 couples, and now its been announced by The Hollywood Reporter that the singer-actress will sing  "America the Beautiful" during the Super Bowl XLVIII pregame festivities on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

It was also recently announced that the unexpected performer, Renee Fleming, will take on the national anthem. She has received four Grammy Awards and the National Medal of Arts. Previously, the honor has been given to Alicia Keys in 2013, Kelly Clarkson in 2012 and Christina Aguilera in 2011.

It isn't her first time singing the song at a major sports event. She sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" during the 2003 World Series at Yankee Stadium in New York. Also, during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, she sang several arias from the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square, and the following year she performed at Obama's inauguration in Washington.

It isn't the first time Queen Latifah has taken on a major sports event either. Latifah also performed the song at Super Bowl XLIV four years ago.

In addition to these to impressive ladies, Bruno Mars is set to headline the halftime show with the accompaniment of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The pregame and halftime productions will be put together as an NFL Network Production, executively produced by Ricky Kirshner. The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks will battle it live on Fox this Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
