Several Disney sweethearts have since turned into Hollywood "bad girls" - including Vanessa Hudgens.

The "High School Musical" beauty stars in the emotional upcoming drama, "Gimme Shelter" -

Agnes "Apple" Bailey (Hudgens) has grown up with an abusive addict for a mother, June (Rosario Dawson). She decides to run and find her father, Tom Fitzpatrick (Brendan Fraser), and discovers he's now a Wall Street broker with a family. She stays with them for a little while, but is soon forced to leave when she realizes she's pregnant and Tom doesn't agree with her choice to keep the baby.

After getting in a car accident and ending up in the hospital, she's taken under the wing of chaplain Father McCarthy (James Earl Jones). He offers to let Apple live at a shelter for pregnant young women run by a spiritual woman named Kathy (Ann Dowd). Apple gradually begins to bond with the other girls at the shelter, eventually considering them her real family. But June soon finds her again, and she's determined not to let go of her daughter.

Hudgens is gradually transforming into a serious and well-respected actress. But some fans aren't too happy with her latest (controversial) fashion choice.

According to TMZ, the 25-year-old starlet was recently spotted going for a jog in Hollywood's Runyon Canyon. Looking beautiful as always, Hudgen's work-out t-shirt is what really caught the attention of paparazzi. She was flaunting a tank top with the word dank (common slang for "good weed"), spelt with Disney's infamous letter "D." A marijuana leaf also replaced the letter "a." Check out the photos at TMZ and Huffington Post.

Inappropriate, or does Hudgens have the right to express her pro-Mary Jane leanings any way she wants?
