The rom-com film Baggage Claim is out on DVD and Blu-ray today, Feb. 4 and MStars reporter Star Connor had a chance to speak with the producer, and director of the film, David E. Talbert.

Baggage Claim which features a lot of well known actors and actresses, like Paula Patton, Jill Scott, Taye Diggs, Trey Songz, Jenifer Lewis, Djimon Hounsou, Tia Mowry and more, are the cast to see in this love story.

Jenifer Lewis, legendary actress who plays the "mother" role in this feature film, and in other films like, What's Love Got to Do With It and in The Preacher's Wife also joined in on the interview.

Star: Baggage Claim is out today on DVD and Blu-ray how does it feel?

Talbert: It feels great! The DVD's just arrived to my house yesterday, and my wife and I are just holding on to it as something special. I am excited because so many people haven't seen it in theaters and now this piece lives forever.

Lewis: You have the intimacy of watching it in your home now. There are some special deleted scenes that are only on the DVD and Blu-ray so you get to see that.

Star: Ms. Lewis, you play the mother of Montana Moore in the movie, and I know you play the role of mother in so many other films, tell us about your character this time.

Lewis: Girl, I have played the mother so many times! You know I'm the black mother of Hollywood. People ask me, 'Jennifer, why you play everybody's mother?' I tell them for that kind of money, I'll play the daddy.

Talbert: And she will. (Laughs)

Star: Now, how did you find your cast for this movie?

Talbert: It was a perfect storm, you know. Everyone in the film is a working actor or actress and were either in between projects or just finishing up a project. Jenifer was doing an off-Broadway show when we met in New York, so it was a perfect storm, it was the right time.

Lewis: I was amazed when he told me who was in the film. I was like, 'Good lord!' But it's because everybody respects him and wanted to give him 200 percent.

Star: I know Mr. Talbert you have been nominated numerous times for a NAACP Image award, will you guys be attending?

Lewis: I've been invited and I think I will be showing up and and having a good time.

Talbert: I'm the guy who likes to watch it on television. I'll be cheering all the films on as I watch from home.

Lewis: You know I got to get on the carpet and act a fool girl, that's all I do you know that's all I do is act a fool.

Star: And you do! (laughs)

Lewis: You know you can't take the red carpet serious.

Star: So what are some things you guys have in store for 2014?

Talbert: I will be working on two new films, another play and trying to be the best husband I can be and the best father. I have a beautiful wife, and an amazing 1-year-old baby boy.

Lewis: He's so cute he looks just like David.

Lewis: And for me, I have Think Like a Man 2. It's coming out in June. The Wedding Ringer with Kevin Hart, it's coming out in 2015 and there is a wonderful low-budget movie that I finished with Malcolm Jones. This is his first film he directed, it's called The Magic City. It deals with a subject matter that is very important, mental illness.

Star: So Mr. Talbert what do you look for in a person when casting?

Talbert: Talent. Fearlessness, if you look up that word you see a picture of Jenifer Lewis, because it can be a daunting situation when a camera is in your face, or people. So that's what I look for talent and not being afraid.

Lewis: You know anybody can show up, and you think it's easy. You watch us do what we do and a lot of people thinks it's easy. But it's hard work, it's hard work to create a whole new person, and portray that and put that on film.

Lewis: What I want to compliment David E. Talbert on is creating an environment of letting it be easy for us to bring out our best work. It was easy for us to show up and do our best work, because he had done his homework.

Lewis: Baggage Claim is a beautiful movie, you can sit up and cuddle up. It's a date movie, it's a family movie, it's a romantic comedy so it will warm your heart, and I'm very proud of this movie, and I'm very proud of the work he has done.

Star: So with that said, Mr. Talbert, why should everyone have a copy of Baggage Claim in their home today?

Talbert: When we were making the film, it felt like a classic, and it is something that is a timeless piece. One of the things me and my wife like to do is look at old movies because they are timeless. I think that Baggage Claim will hold for years to come, and it's a beautiful cast.

Lewis: It speaks to love, what is more powerful than that? I think it's a classic and it certainly will be in my library.
