Part of the anticipation and excitement for a Marvel superhero movie is the post-credits scene, which the studio has effectively used to tease the next major crossover installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man did it first back in 2008, but each of the standalone superhero movies has done it since. Now, a site claims to know the content of the after-credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier aka Captain America 2.

Lainey Gossip reports that the post-credits scene will feature the two new additions to the roster of The Avengers: Age of Ultron: Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, respectively.

"They're calling them 'The Twins,' the brother-sister team of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and they don't look like any Marvel heroes we've met to date. Having seen them, I am really sad for Fox and the X-Men..."

That last line is a reference to Fox's movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, which features Evan Peters as Quicksilver. Some fans have been critical of Quicksilver's look in that film, but Lainey Gossip seems to feel that Marvel has done a better job.

It's unclear how the site got a look at the post-credits scene. The film will come out in March in some markets so a rough copy of the finished film likely exists, but we don't know for sure how Lainey Gossip got a peek.

But if true, then this post-credits scene makes sense given the trajectory of Marvel's current Phase Two. Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World were more standalone installments, though the latter hinted at a broader storyline in its post-credits scene. Captain America 2 is designed to bring focus back toward The Avengers 2, so introducing the new characters would be a smart move.
