The Fantastic Four reboot movie helmed by Josh Trank (Chronicle) is set to hit theaters in 2015, but the rumor mill has been churning like crazy about the cast of the film.

The most common reports attached the names of Miles Teller (That Awkward Moment) to the role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Fruitvale Station) to the role of Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. But the latest twist came thanks to a report from Acting Auditions, which posted a supposed plot synopsis of the film that circulated around the Internet.

But Fox's legal team then got involved and asked numerous websites to remove said descriptions from their pages. Trank had previously gone on his Twitter page to debunk the supposed plot and the casting rumors, and the director again spoke out in a phone interview with Badass Digest.

"The only truth in that plot description is that there are four characters named Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny," Trank said. The description in question had Reed and Ben as teenagers who get their powers after an accident and are forced to work for the government, at which point they meet Sue and Johnny. But Trank told Badass Digest that "you'll see in 2015" that the aforementioned description has it wrong.

Trank also expressed his frustration that actors' names and wish lists for movies get reported as fact, and he has every right to feel that way. Rumors and wish lists mean almost nothing, as the best they can say is who a studio could be considering based on its budget and its idea for a particular movie. It's fun to talk about and speculate, sure, but none of it is worth all that much until the studio says, "This is our guy (or girl)."

What do you think? Does Trank have a point? Let us know in the comments below.
