It's hard to think that CBS sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother' was first broadcast in September 2005, and for years since it has received an abundance of praise and criticism from viewers. Some stated the show had gone on for too long, but it will all end on March 31st 2014, a little under ten years after it captured our hearts.

Now the end's finally in sight it's creating sadness for their fans. For nearly a decade they've followed Ted's pursuit of 'The Mother' and been through the ups and downs with him and the rest of the cast. It's hard not to be heavily invested after 201 episodes of one show, but after a few more, those episodes will be all the HIMYM fans have left to reflect on.

It's rare for new television shows to last past its opening year or two, so of course fans are going to be sad at losing a weekly favourite. In the ninth, and final season we have learned a lot about the characters, the mother and Barney and Robin's wedding weekend, which we'd been teased about for a long time prior.

With the end fast approaching it's fair to say the HIMYM crew have pulled off a master stroke stretching the wedding weekend across the entire season. Many suggested it would be too in depth and be hard to adjust to after loving the system in place for previous seasons, yet many have grown to love this style, and some have labelled it the best season of the nine. In two months it will all be over with, but many of you will be quick to put season one in to their DVD player and enjoy the ride all over again.
