Serbian Soccer Star Nemanja Vidic To Leave Manchester United

For nearly a decade Serbian international Nemanja Vidic has been a dominant force in Manchester United's defense, but during the night he and his club announced that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. Vidic has won every trophy available during his United career, and although he hasn't been as reliable this season, he was still a vital part of Manchester United's rebuilding program.

The defender's contract is due to expire during the summer of 2014, and usually a club of United's stature would ensure a player of his calibre is locked up securely for years to come, but on this occasion they've had to admit defeat. The soccer world has been in discussion as to what this means for the franchise. Firstly, manager David Moyes was quick to address the media on Friday, stating that the decision was "mutual", although that's highly unlikely given the consequences that leaves for his side.

Where's next for one of the Premier League's top defenders? Sadly it will not be another club in England. The Serbian was quick to announce his love for his current club, and that he would like to test himself elsewhere, unable to put on the jersey of an English rival. There have been rumours of all the world's biggest soccer clubs trying to secure his services, but it appears next up in his career is a trip to Milan, to sign for Serie A side Inter Milan. United have said he will remain the club captain until he departs, but now they will have to shift their focus to finding Nemanja Vidic's replacement.
