Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson: 'Twilight' starlet's 'secret, romantic' plan to win (ex) boyfriend back, playing hard to get?

Initially, it looked like things were going pretty well between on-and-off again "Twilight" couple, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. But then the British heartthrob started retreating again, and it drove K-Stew completely insane! So how does the 23-year-old starlet plan on winning her leading man back? By playing hard ball, right back at him!

Robsten began rekindling their romance back in early 2013 - and despite their hectic work schedules, they managed to keep things pretty cool. Until January 2014, that is...

Pattinson was SUPPOSED to visit Stewart in LA following the New Year, but instead he just flew from London to NYC (then returned back home). In fact, during his brief stint back in the States, he ended up hanging out with K-Stew's close gal pal Dakota Fanning.

The "SWATH" beauty tried to act casual about it, but truly, she was pretty upset.

"Kristen has been telling all of their mutual friends that she's over Rob and ready to move on but it's not true," an insider reveals to HollywoodLife.com. "She knows it will get back to Rob, and it's all part of her plan to get him back.

And what exactly is that plan?

"She's decided that she needs to start playing hard to get," the source continues. "She's hoping that when Rob finds out she's talking about moving on that he'll step up to the plate."

Apparently Stewart misses Pattinson "so much," she's willing to do whatever it takes to get him back (even by manipulation):

"Up until now she hasn't been playing any games, she hates games, but ever since he bailed on coming to see her last month she's been very depressed," the source explains. "She was counting on seeing him before he went to Morocco, he told her that he was going to come to LA and then he suddenly changed his plans.  It was really hard on her and it made her realize that she needs to make some changes if she's ever going to get him back."

The insider finally concludes - "She's stopped contacting him; she's letting him make all the moves. Her plan is to start ignoring him, although so far, she hasn't been able to go that far but that's her plan. She thinks that once Rob realizes she's not such a sure thing he'll start making her a priority again. Her friends all think it's the smart thing to do, that Rob will be more interested in her when he thinks he's lost her."

So Mstars fans think this will work in K-Stew's favor. Maybe she'll try working her magic at this year's Coachella Music Festival... (to the relief of Ellie Goulding).
