Elizabeth Olsen will portray the character of Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff in Joss Whedon's The Avengers: Age of Ultron aka The Avengers 2. The actress dropped a few small details about the movie at the premiere of her new indie thriller In Secret, which also stars Jessica Lange.

The 24-year-old Olsen told Variety that she could not wait to dive into the character given her childhood:

"I'm a big comic kid...I grew up on Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I spent time with the Marvel guys talking about how I love these kinds of movies and I think they seem super creative and super exciting, and Joss (Whedon) and I met and we figured it out."

In a separate interview with E! Online at the premiere, Olsen also expressed her enthusiasm and dropped a bit of a tease about the superhero sequel:

"[I'm] very excited. We're doing prep work now. It's a lot of fun and I think it's going to be really exciting for the fans because it's going to be something they are not expecting. That's why I'm excited."

She did not elaborate on what fans are not expecting, but it's certainly an intriguing way to talk about the movie and her part in it.

Because Fox owns the rights to the X-Men franchise, The Avengers cannot make reference to the fact that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are mutants, nor can it discuss their lineage (they are Magneto's children).
