Over the weekend, One Direction's Liam Payne was planning on flying home to see his girlfriend Sophia Smith for her 20th birthday, but a bomb threat was called in on his flight. This delayed the plane for four hours, which is understandable considering the type of threat and the concern for the safety of the passengers and crew, right?  Not when you're young an in love apparently!

According to new reports, the Midnight Memories singer became incredibly angry when having to consider missing his girlfriend's birthday by a few hours. Airport staff was taken aback by the barrage of cursing and swearing the 20-year-old pop star was flinging at them, and he was pretty much the only one mad!

"Liam was livid," a source said." He was tired and grumpy, and just wanted to get home because it was his girlfriend's birthday. He snapped at officials and started swearing. Everyone was quite taken aback."

He apparently calmed down a bit, the source said, adding: "He apologized soon after. He didn't mean any offence."

Meanwhile, Liam's temper tantrum was seen by One Direction fan Brooklyn Wiles who took to her Twitter account to complain after the singer wouldn't smile for a photo with her!

She Tweeted: "I love One Direction ... but for him to act like a complete jerk because of a flight that was delayed due to a bomb threat?!? ... Every single person on that plane has to deal with this too... we all are trying to find flights and get home. And he was swearing up a storm. He was a nobody three years ago ... Just because you're famous doesn't mean you should be a jerk to your fans .. It's hard to love someone who takes fame too far. Liam Payne, I've lost my respect."
