The Avengers: Age of Ultron could officially be in production as of today if a recent reports are true, as Screen Rant notes that writer and director Joss Whedon reportedly met with stars Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Paul Bettany (JARVIS/Vision) at London's Shepperton studios for meetings and costume tests in preparation for shooting in March.

As MStars previously reported, some of the filming will take place on location around the world, and South Africa is one such location. SA Breaking News reports that The Avengers 2 would begin shooting today in Johannesburg, as the site informed local residents of road closures related to the production. The content of the shoot remains unclear, but expect some unofficial set photos and maybe even a few fan videos to creep up online.

Previous reports speculated that South Africa would transform into the nation of Wakanda, the home of the Black Panther, but subsequent reports revealed that the nation would in fact just serve as itself for the sequel. Other reports speculated that the first few minutes of the film could feature newcomers Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Baron von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann). If true, then perhaps this is the focus of today's shoot, or maybe it involves Hawkeye and Vision.

Either way, we would likely to find out more details sooner rather than later, but we will not know for sure until Age of Ultron hits theaters in 2015.

For now, give us your thoughts. What do you think Whedon and his crew would shoot today? Let us know in the comments below.
