Nicole Scherzinger says she's leaving 'X Factor' to focus on music, it 'breaks her heart'

Good things don't last forever and Nicole Scherzinger can attest to that. Scherzinger recently made a heartbreaking announcement: she'll be leaving X Factor UK. But on a good note, she's leaving the show to focus on her music.

As we hear it, deciding to leave the show wasn't an easy decision for Scherzinger. But after battling with the decision, Scherzinger decided to get back to her roots and put out an album.

The former Pussycat Doll hasn't released any new music in three years.

"It breaks her heart, but Nicole is sad not to be able to go back to the show this year," a source told The Sun. "She put her music career on hold last year but now she has to focus on her music."

It has been reported that Simon Cowell will return to the show.

Cowell created the UK version of X Factor back in 2004. Cowell then moved the show to the United States but ultimately opted to cut it loose due to the growing market of talent shows in the States.

Cowell has since taken a break from X Factor all together for personal reasons.  

Fox's chairman of entertainment, Kevin Reilly had this to say of Cowell's departure:

"Unfortunately, there is no 'X Factor USA' without Simon Cowell, but we understand and support his decision to focus on the international formats and on the next phase of his personal life. We wish him the very best, and it's our sincere hope that we work together again soon."
