Will Smith dead? 'I am Legend' sequel not going to happen

Fans of the film I Am Legend, apocalyptic sci-fi horror film that starred Will Smith, are probably waiting to hear is there will be a sequel, will they might get the news that they are waiting for. 

Although the film was released seven years ago, fans still want to know what is next for Smith's character. 

According to Bustle, the screenwriter Akiva Goldsman's have mentioned that their would be a I Am Legend 2, and has explained what would have happened if there was a sequel.

The site mentions that the first I Am Legend was written by co-writer Mark Protosevich and Goldsman, and produced, and directed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence. 

Goldsman is currently working on and directing, Winter's Tale starring Colin Ferrell  and Jessica Brown Findlay.

It seems that even though he may be busy, he did want to make clear of what's to come for the I Am Legend fans, and why chances are there will be no sequel.

Oh no no, [there was] never a movie. I mean, we wrote a prequel [and] a sequel. We had a really interesting prequel, which was the first outbreak of the virus, during a Thanksgiving Day parade, which was awesome. We did a really interesting prequel that [took place] later. Which was right after the first... really right when the population of of humans became pretty decimated. And it was this sort of trek to Washington. Which included a dark seeker elephant that had broken out of the zoo. 

Sounds like it would be a good sequel, too bad fans will never see it.
