James Rosemond, Tupac Shooting: Hip-hop Mogul Admits Involvement

James Rosemond, a drug lord also known as "Jimmy Henchman," admitted to orchestrating the 1994 shooting of Hip-hop superstar Tupac Shakur, according to the Huffington Post. He allegedly admitted to being involved in the late rapper's untimely death during proffer sessions.

The superstar rapper was murdered after being shot when he was walking out of a New York City recording studio. His death escalated the volatile East Coast v. West Coast rap war, which ultimately took the life of Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace as well. Rumors have also surrounded both incidents, but no one was ever charged for the murders of both rappers.

However new evidence has surfaced due to a recent report in the Village Voice, breathing new life into the 18-year-old murder case. James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond, who used to be a music mogul, admitted that he was behind Tupac's murder, the Village Voice reported.

The news site added that Rosemond admitted to being the one who arranged the shooting so he would face less jail time for an unrelated crime.

Before he was shot, Tupac had a hit with "Against All Odds," a song where he blames Rosemond for setting up the assault at the Quad.

"Jimmy Henchman. . .

[You] set me up, wet me up ... stuck me up.

But you never shut me up."

Rosemond's confession comes a year after his former best bud, Dexter Isaac, confessed that he, too, was a part of Tupac's shooting.

In a statement to AllHipHop.com, he said Rosemond was the one who told him to rob and shoot Shakur.

"In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob 2Pac at the Quad Studio," he said. "He gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring, which he wanted for himself. It was the biggest of the two diamond rings that we took. He said he wanted to put the stone in a new setting for his girlfriend at the time, Cynthia Reed. I still have as proof the chain that we took that night in the robbery."

Surprisingly, no one can be charged for the murder of Tupac Shakur. His case was filed as a robbery and too much time has elapsed since the murder to allow it to be prosecuted - the statute of limitations to has expired, the Huffington Post explained -- and the case can no longer be opened.

Maybe Pac can come out of hiding in New Zealand now.
