According to MBFW, Lauren is the only designer to receive the Council of Fashion Designers of America's (CFDA) four highest honors - the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award, the Menswear Designer of the Year Award, the Retailer of the Year Award, as well as the CFDA's Humanitarian Leadership Award.
Not only is Ralph Lauren world-renowned for his designs, he also is heavily involved in philanthropy. In April 2001, he founded the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation. The organization supports initiatives in cancer care, education and service in under-served communities.
