Reports confirm that Baltimore Ravens star Ray Rice and his girlfriend-turned-fiancee Janay Palmer were arrested in Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday morning (Feb. 15) after fighting inside a casino. Cops confirm that the couple "struck each other" in plain view of fellow gamblers.
TMZ confirms that the AC PD responded to a domestic dispute at the swanky Revel Casino at 2:51 a.m. Law enforcement sources say, "After reviewing surveillance footage it appeared both parties were involved in a physical altercation. The complaint summons indicates that both Rich and Palmer struck each other with their hands."
Neither individual was injured, and both refused medical treatment.
Still, Rice and Palmer were promptly escorted to a nearby police station where they were ultimatelu booked for Simple Assault-Domestic Violence. Both were later released on a summons to appear in court at a later time.
A rep for the popular NFL running back issued this statement to the infamous gossip webloid:
"We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancee. We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained."
Meanwhile, Rice's attorney recently told the Baltimore Sun that the fight was simply a "very minor physical altercation."
The lawyer hired to represent Rice in the case (Michael Diamondstein) also stated, "We haven't seen any charging documents yet. There was an argument that included Ray. I can't give any specifics because we haven't seen the document yet. Once we're able to go through the evidence, it should wind up to be little more than a misunderstanding."
Rice and Palmer have been dating since 2008 - they have one daughter together.
