Part of the plot of Season 3 of Scandal has been President Fitzgerald Grant's (Tony Goldwyn) bid for re-election. In the timeframe of the show, the election is still quite a ways off, so this plot line has been simmering in the background for much of the season. According to a new report, though, the campaign will kick into high gear when the final eight episodes of the season begin.

The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide reports the following about the return of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and the rest of the players:

"The campaign will be in full swing when the show returns, but Fitz may not make it out unscathed. He'll have to deal with both someone swearing vengeance against him and resurfacing old rumors. In unrelated news, you will see some interesting nudity in the midseason return."

Those are some rather vague words, but they do make it clear that the presidential election, at least the primary, will start to accelerate. Logic would dictate that the actual election would not take place until Season 4, and it's likely Fitz would win, unless the show wants to throw a curveball and shake things up (which is actually quire common for Scandal).

As for the "interesting nudity," your guess is as good as ours. Plenty of characters on this show have stripped down, though how "interesting" could the nudity be given that the show airs on ABC?
