Modern Family Star Groped by Male Fan

According to the Washington Post, Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland, 23, was groped by a male fan who attempted to pose for a photograph. The ABC cast was in Sydney, Australia shooting an episode. The man has been charged for indecent assault.

Hyland, who plays Haley Dunfy on Modern Family, was alongside cast members at a Sydney hotel for a promotional event. The assailant was a 29-year-old man. The charge of indecent assault holds a maximum of five years in Australia,

According to the Washington Post, the man was freed on bail and is expected to appear in court on March 14. The authorities have not revealed the perpetrator's name.

After the incident, the starlet wrote to her fans through Twitter. She wrote, "Sorry to all the fans outside the #qantas event that I didn't get to say hi to but I had to leave due to an inappropriate touch of a fan ."

According to Nine News National, she pushed the man away and screamed, "Don't touch me there!" before security intervened.

The news site said that the actress' boyfriend, Matt Prokop, was also quick to condemn the accused. He took to his Twitter account and said, "All Sarah wanted to do tonight was say hi to the girls who were waiting outside one d**** can ruin it for everyone.  Goodnight."
