Former two-time NBA champion Lamar Odom recently signed on to play in Spain's basketball league for franchise Laboral Kutxa. Considering he'll definitely get more game time and shine as a star in this league, Odom's decision to move seemed like a great career choice but he actually credits his soon-to-be ex-father-in-law Bruce Jenner.

"Bruce is... he means a lot to me," Odom said to an Access Hollywood camera crew that tracked him down and asked about his move to Spain. "Bruce is one of the reasons why I am going to do this."

He added: "And of course my family. They stood by me."

Clearly family has a lot to do with any decision anyone would make, but why do you think Lamar singled out Bruce for this life-changing move?

Though his career has attracted a lot of attention this week, we're used to seeing him in headlines in regards to his relationship with Khloe Kardashian and the divorce proceedings they are going through. When asked about Khloe, he still referred to the reality TV star as his wife, which is definitely nice, but she won't be his wife for too long.

"I always speak to Khloe. She's my wife," he said.

Then, asked about his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, he added: "I left Kris [Jenner] a message today. [I'm] always texting back and forth with Bruce. Hopefully they'll be able to come see me soon."

Odom is expected to make his debut with his new Spanish basketball team later in the month.
