Usher and his family have been coping with the death of his stepson, Kile Glover, for some time now and they are finally getting closure.

According to CNN, a jury in Georgia convicted a man of homicide by vessel Thursday (Feb. 20). The site reports that Jeffrey Simmon Hubbard, 40, was found guilty on five counts including homicide by vessel in the first degree, serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, and a boat traffic violation.

At the time, Hubbard was operating the personal watercraft that hit the boat pulling 11-year-old Glover and a 15-year-old girl as they rode on an inner tube in a Georgia lake.

Glover was the son of Usher's ex Tameka Raymond from a previous relationship.

During an interview with Atlanta's Channel 2 News, Raymond had this to say:

"At the end of the day, I know he didn't do it on purpose. He could've only loved Kile."

Hubbard is said to be a family friend who was part of their group outing on Lake Lanier north of Atlanta.

Glover suffered a serious head injury and died two weeks later at Children's Healthcare at Egleston in Atlanta.

Raymond was married to Usher for two years. They have two children together from their marriage. They divorced in 2009. Glover's father is the president of Bounce TV and a former executive with Turner Broadcasting.

Hubbard's sentencing is set for March 5.
