Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada opened up about her domestic abuse scandal with ex-husband, Chad Johnson and says that she never thought she would be engaged or pregnant now.

In an interview with Life & Style, Lozada talked about her painful struggles and short-lived marriage after Johnson was charged for physically abusing her in 2012 saying, "I had the worst 2012, I thought my life was over."

She added, "It happened so publicly, and then the passing of my brother-in-law. But that entire incident [with Chad] led me to where I'm at now."

Now the reality star is expecting her second child with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford and will start planning a wedding after their son's birth.

"I would say my broken bridge led me to happiness," she says. "If I had to do it again, I would because I truly feel complete right now in my life and I wouldn't change it for anything."

Lozada gushed about her fiancé, "He came into my life at a perfect time. Everything that happened makes me appreciate him 1,000 times more and he also makes me a better person." She continued, "I appreciate everything and I thank God every day for my life...I'm really lucky and really, really blessed."

Lozada will be changing diaper again nearly 20 years after having her daughter Shaneice, from a previous relationship.

"He's going to give me a run for my money! I'm like, 'Oh my God, he's going to want to play and get dirty,'" Evelyn said. "I'm just looking forward to all these amazing things that come with having a boy and a baby."

She added that she will raise her son to be a great man after all the struggles she's been through,  "I just want him to love and respect all women."
