There's a new rumor going around concerning the setting of the next installment of Assassin's Creed. The popular video game franchise will be taking on its fifth installment in the coming months, with very little news coming out regarding updates. But now a new leaked press release might have confirmed the setting of the new game, though many consider this to be a fake. According to this statement, Assassin's Creed V could be set in London or maybe Russia!

It's not a good thing when even a rumor is vague. Two very different settings are apparently coming out of this rumor, so this makes it even harder to believe.

Check out an excerpt from the leaked press release right here:

In the events of the ongoing Industrial Revolution, Assassin's Creed V follows the story of Samuel Fey, as he enters the Assassin Order in a time of change and Templar rule. Fey is a successful and respectful entrepreneur, who works outside the corrupt law to guarantee the security of his own and others' futures. Taking place during the closing years of the Industrial Revolution in Victorian London, players will explore all new locales as they uncover the truth behind the hidden ongoing rebellion.

Assassin's Creed V is the turning point for the franchise, featuring completely revised stealth and combat mechanics, powered by the next-generation Ubisoft AnvilX engine and all-new gameplay features and systems. While Assassin's Creed acts as Ubisoft's rescope for the franchise, it maintains the key touch points that the series is built upon.

Do you think this rumor is true? Should we expect to go on adventures in London or maybe even Russia? We do know that series overseer Jade Raymond shot down the possibility of a Japanese samurai-based story, so perhaps we should prepare for these other possibilities.
