One Direction are seemingly the group of men who can and will do anything they set their mind to. Louis Tomlinson surprised the world when he was signed for respectable British soccer team Doncaster Rovers, and since there's been much debate about whether it was a publicity stunt or if he could actually contribute on the field, and it appears we're about to find out. Last summer he signed on a non-contract bases, and the Doncaster-born star, 22, is set to make his long anticipated first appearance for the team.

Although the star has one of the busiest schedules going he still finds time to watch the first team play and to train with them, too. He did, however, suffer an injury during a game, which had held him back for a while. The singing star had only played at a local level before, but he will play against their rival team, Rotherham, in a development game.

Can Louis make it into their first team? Does he want to? With rumours suggesting the band may be looking at splitting up, perhaps he will use his music fame to push himself further in to a soccer career. Anything is possible with these hard working boys. For now it appears it will be about his music, and soccer will be a pass time that both he and Rovers will benefit from.

One thing that's for sure is his adoring fans will be wanting his soccer jersey, and Doncaster Rovers will financially benefit from that. Smart move all round it seems.
