Britney Spears recently tweeted: "It's official. @TheXFactorUSA premieres Sept 12 on FOX. Ready 2 see what I've been up 2 w/ @SimonCowell @ddlovato @LA_Reid? #ItsXFactorBit**."

Now that it's official that she will be judging the hit singing competition series this fall on FOX, Spears went house-hunting in Malibu last weekend, according to Radar Online.

The "X-Factor" USA co-host is reportedly being paid $15million to sit on the judging panel with Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Demi Lovato.

"Brit" is spending her downtime before the live show taping process begins this fall by renting her dream home this summer.

Britney was photographed snapping pictures of a beach front home property with her fiancé Jason Trawick, and two sons Preston and Jayden as well as an entourage of bodyguards and assistants.

"The house she checked out is for lease at just under $14,900 a month, and is also for sale for $7 million, but Brit's people said she was only interested in a summer rental," the insider said.

According to real estate website Californiamoves.com, the three-story house is 3,565 square feet and is situated on sand. It also has decks on each floor.

It features five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and has an additional studio apartment with its own kitchen and bath. The home has a newly remodeled kitchen, vaulted ceilings, and of course ocean views. The top level includes a master suite with its own private sun deck.

Britney last lived in Malibu when she was married to Kevin Federline.

As far as the X factor USA job, the pop star has already judged auditions in Kansas City and San Francisco for the show's second year stateside.

She told the show's official website: "It's been fun; it's been a lot of fun.

"I think I'm a fair judge. Sometimes it's kind of hard because I know what they've been through and being so young... it's such a delicate situation when they're that young.

"You just have to use constructive criticism and be there for them and show them support... I'm looking for someone who shows spark and spunk.

"I don't think I'm the toughest judge at all. I definitely think Simon would have to be the toughest judge."
