The cast of Supernatural: Tribes, the spinoff to the long-running CW series, continues to take shape, as the show has made another casting decision in Sean Faris, who will play a werewolf on the new show.

According to TVLine, Faris will play Julian Durant, the son in a wealthy family of werewolves who harbors hatred for the shapeshifters of the Hayden family.

Faris currently has a recurring role on Pretty Little Liars as Officer Gabriel Holbrook and has previously ventured into the supernatural genre with a role as vampire Ben on Season 1 of fellow CW series The Vampire Diaries. He has also starred on Reunion and Life As We Know It.

EW.com reported last week that Tribes had cast British actor Lucien Laviscount (Skins, Coronation Street) as Ennis Roth and Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic, who portrayed Klaus' brother Kol on The Vampire Diaries last season, as David Hayden.

Ennis Roth is a trainee at the police academy, but his fiancée dies during the crossfire of the ongoing monster war in Chicago (hence the subtitle, Tribes). The young man then "learns the truth about what lurks in the shadows and becomes a monster-hunter himself," according to the article.

David Hayden, on the other hand, is a shapeshifter from one of the ruling monster families in Chicago who has been masquerading as human after he gave up his monster life years ago.

According to EW, Roth and Hayden are the two leads on the show, but Tribes will function more as an ensemble drama compared to Supernatural, which focuses mainly on brothers Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki). The show has yet to cast the other main players.

EW describes Tribes as a "sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that unknowingly-to-humans 'run' the underbelly of Chicago and who are being tracked by a newly-minted Hunter who's trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural."

The three men will appear in the 20th episode of the current ninth season of Supernatural, which will serve as a backdoor pilot for the show.
