After months of anticipation, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson finally made his debut as a non-contract reserve player for his hometown football club, the Doncaster Rovers, in a match against Rotherham United. As expected, the stadium was packed with screaming One Direction fans, as well as a handful of season ticket holders that weren't as excited as the young girls. Louis did see some filed time, but the match ended in a draw despite the celebrity presence of the pop singer.

Though the only real expectation of added Louis to the Rovers' reserve squad was a rise in attendance (and a huge rise at that), fans were still pretty disappointed at the draw. The Telegraph got to interview a season ticket holder named Mickey about the game and the fact that a member of One Direction had joined his favorite team.

"It's only 'cause he's here," Mickey said in regards to the gridlock traffic and thousands of screaming fans leading up to the game's start. "Most games you can count the crowd on the fingers of one hand."

There were about 5,000 fans in the stadium this week, most of which were young girls lining up to buy Louis' jersey, number 28.

As the game got closer to kick off, the announcer stated: "And these are the Rovers substitutes: Lewis Ferguson, Ben Haskins and ... Louis Tomlinson."

As you can imagine, the crowd erupted.

Tomlinson saw some game time as well, and on his first touch his fans cheered, "Louis I love you!"

"I tell you what," Mickey told the Telegraph. "If this is all we've got in reserve, we really are knackered."
