Bill Paxton will guest star on the next episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which airs next Tuesday, March 4. The official plot description for the episode, entitled "Tahiti" (a reference to Coulson's resurrection), reads "Coulson goes on the attack to save Skye - enlisting the aid of Ward's former S.O. John Garrett (Bill Paxton) - and uncovers shocking truths about his own life and S.H.I.E.L.D."

Check out a two-minute preview clip from the episode:

The "Matt's Inside Line" column at TVLine reports the following bit of casting news about the episode:

"You had mentioned that Episode 14 of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would introduce two recurring characters. One of them seems to be Bill Paxton's character, but what about the African-American role? Do you know who's playing that, and if he is a Marvel character or not? -Andy B.
Andy, collect your 250 TVLine Power User Points (of no cash value but damn suitable for framing), because you led me to this casting scoop: B.J. Britt (One Tree Hill, Being Mary Jane) wound up scoring the role of Agent Triplett, an associate of Bill Paxton's character who appears in the March 4 episode."

Brett Dalton, who plays Agent Grant Ward on the show, released some information to the "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide about Paxton's character, Josh Garrett:

"John Garrett is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who, like Coulson, was trained by Nick Fury. But he also has history with Ward, whom he actually trained before Ward joined Coulson's team. 'Coulson makes decisions based on instincts and intuition,' Brett Dalton says. 'Ward is more about risk assessment and tactical skills. That's all that he's known until joining Coulson's team. [Garrett is] the guy who trained Ward, so he's a reflection of him in a lot of ways.'"

Based on those descriptions, we could be in for some conflict between Garrett and Coulson when the two cross paths.
