Jeff Goldblum starred in two of the biggest films of the 1990s in Independence Day and Jurassic Park. Both of those movies will return to theaters in sequel form in the near future, and Goldblum has now addressed the extent of his involvement in the two projects.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Goldblum said that he is not likely to appear as Dr. Malcolm in Jurassic World aka Jurassic Park 4 for the same reason that he did not appear in Jurassic Park III.

"Nobody asked me, but I was perfectly satisfied with the two that I did," the actor said. "I'm still satisfied with that and I'll be the first in line to see anything else, so, you know. But, Independence Day..."

The site remarked to Goldblum that Independence Day director Roland Emmerich, who will also helm the sequel, had been adamant about the returns of Goldblum, Judd Hirsch and others (except Will Smith) for Independence Day 2.

"Oh, good, so he's talked about it," Goldblum replied. "Yeah, they've talked to me about it and I've talked to them about it and they're excited and I'm anxious and eager to see -- I haven't read anything -- what they cook up. You know, I think they're trying to put it together."

Will Smith's involvement in the movie has been the subject of much debate and speculation, as reports have gone back and forth on whether or not the actor would reprise his role in the movie that helped launch him into movie stardom.
