Celebrities make a fashion statement on the NAACP Image Awards red carpet ( see photos )

The NAACP red carpet did not disappoint, celebrities including Scandal star, and mom-to-be Kerry Washington, Tyler Perry, Oprah, Lupita Nyong'o, Michael Ealy, Terrence Howard and his new wife, and more showed up and dressed in style for the awards ceremony.

Show host Anthony Anderson presented the entertainer of the year award to actor Kevin Hart during the 45th NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California on February 22, 2014. Other winners included Kerry Washington for outstanding drama series actress on her hit show, ABC's Scandal.

Lupita Nyong'o took home the first honor and award for her role in 12 Years a Slave. Angela Bassett won an Image award for outstanding motion picture actress in Black Nativity, and Forest Whitaker, who also played in Black Nativity won outstanding motion picture actor for Lee Daniels' The Butler.

LL Cool J won outstanding actor in a drama series for CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles. See photos of the stylish celebrities that were in attendance. 

Oprah took her first selfie writing, "My first selfie. Love @idriselba! #imageawards."

She also showed off her huge hair outside on the arrival carpet.

Idris Elba, who is expecting his second child with London-based makeup artist Naiyana Garth was all suit and bow-tie at the Image Awards.

ABC's The View show host, Sherri Shepherd looked stunning showing off her new figure.

Winner Lupita Nyong'o liked radiant in orange.
