Sally Langston is on the offensive but still defensive after murdering her husband.  Cyrus cleaned up the blood, but Sally's God-fearing ways can't wash the blood off her hands.  She believes she let the Devil inside her and is deathly afraid that there will be a reckoning.  She's running as an Independent in the next Presidential Election, however she is refusing to give up her seat as Vice President.  Pride, wrath, greed, envy... four out of seven is a pretty good ratio, right?

On the other side of the white house, Fitz is planning his re-election campaign around his extramarital affair-ridden public image.  Mellie did a number on his re-election campaign by broadcasting on national television that he had, had an affair.  Now the whole gang is working over-time to put the past in the past.  Unfortunately, Olivia is his new campaign manager and the press is all over Fitz's googly eyes at "the Fixer."

Fitz's next move is to pick a new Vice President candidate and he sets his sights on Andrew Nichols, a man who he had worked with in the past and is a California representative.  He has a playboy image and Olivia is up-in-arms about Andrew being Fitz's next running mate.  She interviews him exclusively and he asserts himself as a man who had his heart broken.  He dates, both models and CEO's, but he is not interested in settling down any time soon.  He sees marriage as a serious commitment and he would never marry just to have a wife.

Meanwhile, Harrison is concerned about his mystery enemy, Adnan Salif, entering the country.  He fears for his safety and tries to steal Abby's gun for protection.  She catches him in the act and lets him have her gun after seeing the fear in his eyes.  However, when Adnan appears, she turns out to be a beautiful, femme fatale that Harrison seems to have a romantic history with...

Jake sits comfortable at the helm of B 6-13 and he interviews Charile about signing up with the program again.  Jake questions Charlie on the side about Quinn's whereabouts, but Charlie denies any knowledge of her location.  Later on, Charlie is shopping around with Quinn at a home-improvement shop for new "equipment."

Rumors in the press surge about Olivia and Fitz having a secret affair and this pushes Mellie to confront Olivia again.  Mellie gives Olivia a list of bachelors and demands Liv choose any one of them to date.  With this advice, Olivia runs back to Jake and the two are seen canoodling throughout the city shortly after.

James is enjoying is comfy job at the white house, but he secretly is feeding information about Sally's husband's death to another reporter under the codename "Publius."  He eventually aligns himself with David and the two are predictably going to hatch out a plan to take down the white house.

"Vermont keeps getting further and further away," says a sad Olivia to Jake, but he has no idea she is referring to the house Fitz built in Vermont for the two of them.  By "further and further away," she may be referring to the fact that she has to start seeing Jake again and her father, Eli, has threatened not only her life, but Jake's and Fitz's as well.  Eli has a plan for vengeance and he warns Olivia to gather all her things and run far, far away.

To top it all off, it turns out Mellie is the woman that Andrew has been pining away for all along and Olivia's mother is still on the run somewhere in Washington.
