Patrick Wilson has been a popular choice among fans to bring the character of Ant-Man to life on the big screen, and now the actor could join Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie in 2015.

Deadline and other sites have reported that Wilson (Watchmen) could join Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas. TheWrap reports, "It's not immediately clear which side Wilson's character will be on, though Marvel has been searching for another charismatic leading man, a description that fits Wilson." Potential candidates for his character include the lead villain in the film and a young Hank Pym. Douglas portrays an older Pym in the movie, but the character starts his career as the titular superhero in the 1960s.

Michael Pena and Evangeline Lilly are also reportedly in talks to join the film, but Lilly has reportedly not decided yet because the commitment would require her to sign up for multiple sequels.

Marvel Studios confirmed in January that Douglas, a multiple Academy Award-winner, had joined Ant-Man as Hank Pym and also confirmed that Rudd will portray Scott Lang. Here's what Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige said about the casting:

"With Hank Pym's rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves. We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn't be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life."
